Office´s expert presented at international IT conference

21. 1. 2018 – The City of Prague hosted in mid-January an international IT conference itSMF Czech Republic having information security as central topic. The office was represented by Ms Miroslava Matoušová, senior counsel for government affairs.

In the elegant premises of the Ambassador Ms Matoušová offered to the audience a presentation on protection of personal data in the field of information- and cyber security. “Every measure adopted and implemented ensuring information security is at the same time an arrangement safeguarding personal data,” said Ms Matoušová and added that the protection of personal data means more than a mere information security.

The overall aim however was to calm everyone who in the IT area will come in touch with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): “Similarly as in other sectors, also here is true that those who already comply with the current data protection law will not have much work to implement GDPR.”

This conference was one of the first events of this year actively attended by one of the office´s experts. Last year they offered their presentations at almost ninety domestic or international events.
