Office´s expert presented at lectures organized by the European Commission in Prague

16. 3. 2018 – Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic organized two lectures on GDPR this week. Both were focused on its implementation by businesses and organizations.
 

 
 
First event co-organized by the European Commission and the European Parliament Information Office was aimed at SMEs.

The second event next day was organized by Europe Direct, which is a network coordinated and co-funded by the European Commission. Among the target audience were managers of the Europe Direct information centres so that they could pass on the knowledge to NGOs, schools, libraries as well as small sole traders. 

The office´s expert notably mentioned that the new regulation builds on risk-based approach which means some controllers will have additional obligations related to their processing operations for reasons such as extensive processing that posing potential high risk to data subjects.
Both lectures fall within the GDPR awareness raising series with participation of the office´s experts. They took active part in almost thirty events this year whereas it was on ninety occasions in 2017.
