The event was attended by more than 35 controllers, mostly entrepreneurs offering their services directly to individual customers. Present were also controllers developing their business in production and sale as well as entities from innovative branches. Pursuant an office´s survey, almost 80 percent of them offered information to data subjects online and more than a half of them used services of at least one processor. The event participants were business owners (31 percent), senior staff (31 percent), and specialists (33 percent).
“We prepared the Day for Small Entrepreneurs for well-informed representatives of minor and small controllers who were interested to deepen their knowledge in the area of data protection. Our aim was sharing our interpretation of the GDPR and of the Data Protection Act as well as conveying information on up-to-date issues like biometrics or issuance of administrative fines”, said Ms Miroslava Matoušová, the event coordinator.
“Both events as well as the follow-up discussions were well accepted despite initial concerns as to the differing participants´ expectations.”The Day of Small Entrepreneurs has become yet another event offering the public to meet with the office´s experts and to consult broad array of topics related to data protection. Specifically, this event complemented the successful series of 10 events (since July 2018) for data protection officers.
