The Office investigates into the transmission of structured data of people in quarantine to the police

2. 3. 2021 – The Office for Personal Data Protection has launched an investigation into the transmission of data relating to quarantined persons to the Police of the Czech Republic.
 

 
 
Following to the information published by numerous media sources, all regional hygiene stations and the Czech Social Security Authority should reportedly have made recourse to this practice.  

Mr Jiří Kaucký, the office´s president said: “Government authorities must always handle the citizens´ personal data strictly within the intentions of the law and in a lawful manner, efficiently and proportionally.”  

Currently, the office looks not only into this practice, but inquires also about the circumstances under which the Police of the Czech Republic has been storing and using these data.
